Mrs. Acosta's book club had a great time during lunch making monster doughnuts and monster bookmarks! They talked about their favorite spooky books, too. Next month they will be reading fantasy books. Sign-up with Mrs. Acosta in the library to participate and find your fantasy novel.

Hello,
I wanted to update you about our NJHS awesome field trip. The Hale Centre Theater is amazing! Their performance of “Sister Act” was spectacular! The nun’s church was set in a Gothic style Roman cathedral with flying buttresses, which I have been teaching about in Art 1. That was an academic connection. Also, I laughed, cried, and gained a greater understanding of love for all during the performance. What a great message!
We had a wonderful time!

For Hispanic Heritage Month, our LIA class created & decorated posters of famous Latinos with interesting facts about them. They then displayed these posters in the main hall for all students to see and learn about.

Mrs. Evans Life Skills class was in the Media Center doing their monthly storytelling with our amazing Media Specialist Mrs. Acosta.

Dr. Parslow released our first Monarch Butterfly into the wild this morning. Happy Trails little friend, we can't wait to see all the places you go and hope you migrate back here again!

We had a Monarch Butterfly hatch today during school! Here it is filling its wings and drying on a flower!

Here are some pictures of my LIA class doing a fun team-building activity!
They were divided into 6 random teams and were given some balloons and a roll of tape. They had 15 minutes to see who could work together the best and build the tallest, free-standing balloon tower. The winning team's tower was over 5 feet tall!

We had a garden club meeting on Tuesday after school and harvested a lot of fresh produce! Our Gem Corn looks beautiful! Our Zucchini plants are being prolific. Our tomatoes are delicious! Our club members take care of our school garden year round and we are always looking for new members. For more information see Dr. Parslow in room 102, or send me an email at mparslow@wsd.net. I have attached some photos of our latest meeting members who came and the harvest.
Thank you,
